Turkish to English Translation and Certified Translation
What’s a certified translation?
A certified Turkish to English translation is an official rendering of a document that comes with a signed statement from a qualified translator or translation agency, verifying that it faithfully and accurately reflects the source text.

Why a UK-based Chartered Linguist? Every certified translation is done and signed by me personally — no subcontracting — with free correction if a UK authority rejects it and signed copies posted anywhere in the UK. Find out why it matters.
Not sure whether you need a certified, notarised or apostilled translation? Read my guide: Certified vs Sworn, Notarised, Legalised and Apostilled.

- Certificate of Translation: A declaration confirming the translation is a true and correct version of the original.
- Translator’s Credentials: Contact information along with professional membership details (e.g., MCIL or CIOL) or the translation agency’s information.
- Signature and Date: Signed and dated by the translator or an authorised project manager.

Why work with me as your Turkish to English translator
Turkish to English work often involves subtitling, media and time-sensitive projects — like an overnight documentary turnaround for the BBC — as much as standard document translation, so responsiveness matters as much as accuracy. As a Chartered Linguist (CIOL), ITI member and ISO 17100:2015 qualified translator, I bring the same professional standards to this direction of translation as to my English–Turkish work.
Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between a certified translation and a standard translation?
A certified translation comes with a signed statement of accuracy and my Chartered Linguist stamp, confirming it’s a true and complete rendering of the original — this is what UK institutions such as Home Office, HM Passport Office, UKVI, HM Courts & Tribunals, UK ENIC require for official documents. A standard translation, used for correspondence, articles or business documents, doesn’t need this certification. For a fuller explanation, see my guide: Certified vs Sworn, Notarised, Legalised and Apostilled.
How much does a certified document translation cost?
Certified translations of short, one-page documents such as diplomas, degree certificates or birth certificates start from £30 per one page document. This price applies to digitally delivered translations. Apart from specific documents and short, one-page documents, documents with multiple pages are priced per word, at £0.10 per word — get in touch with your document for a fixed price.
Can I get a hard copy with a physical stamp and wet signature?
Yes. If you need a hard copy translation with a physical stamp and wet signature posted to you, there is an additional charge of £15 per order. Hard copy translations are sent by Royal Mail First Class 24 Hour Tracked and Signed For Delivery.
How long does a translation take?
Standard turnaround for certified personal documents is 1–2 business days. For subtitling, transcription and time-sensitive media work, turnaround depends on the project — including same-weekend delivery where needed.
Do you translate documents other than certificates — business or legal documents, for example?
Yes — I regularly translate company registration documents, contracts, employment documents, notary documents, and insurance claim documentation, alongside subtitling, transcription and article translation.
Is a scan of my document enough, or do you need the original?
A clear scan or photograph is normally sufficient for translation. If your specific application requires sight of the physical original, I’ll flag this at the quote stage.
Why should I use a qualified translator for my certified translation?
In the UK, anyone can call themselves a certified translator. If the organisation receiving your document can’t verify who translated it, they may reject it — which can mean delays and paying twice. Choosing a translator who belongs to a recognised body such as the CIOL or ITI gives your translation credentials that anyone can check.
How can I check your credentials?
I’m a Chartered Linguist and member of the CIOL (no. 42759) and a qualified member of the ITI (no. 8695). You can look me up in both bodies’ public directories, and my membership details appear on every certificate of translation I issue.
